Who we are
OligoDirect is an American brand. The company you contract with, and pay, is our Hong Kong selling entity — set out below. Brand and selling entity being in different places is the ordinary shape of an international supplier, and we would rather you read it here than discover it on the invoice.
Writing DNA should be as easy as reading it. Reading a genome took twenty years and a billion dollars. Now it takes a day. Writing one still takes a purchase order.
Who you are buying from
Overseas purchasing offices check this before releasing payment. Here is the short version.
Sold and invoiced by our Hong Kong entity; payment is made to a Hong Kong bank account.
Orders to Asia-Pacific destinations are dispatched from our Hong Kong hub. Hong Kong is a free port: there is no import duty on the parcel while it is with us, and the onward leg to most of the region is a short-haul flight rather than a trans-Pacific one.
Country of origin is declared on the commercial invoice for each lot, according to where it was manufactured. Dispatching from Hong Kong does not change it, and being an American brand does not make the goods American-made.
