How ordering works
Four steps. The price you see on this site is the price you are quoted.
Put it in the order form, or just describe it
If you have sequences, paste them and the price updates as you type. If you do not, say what the experiment is. A gene symbol and a species is enough to start.
We come back within one business day
Itemised against the list on this site, so every line can be checked against a public page. Catalogue items are priced instantly. Custom and heavily modified constructs go past a synthesis chemist first, because that is where the surprises are.
You confirm, and it goes into synthesis
Stocked items leave the same business day. Custom oligos are usually 2 to 5 business days, longer for PAGE or for anything with more than two modifications.
It arrives dry, with its paperwork
Lyophilised, at ambient temperature, no dry ice. The mass spectrum and the certificate of analysis are issued with the shipment rather than on request.
Who is placing the order?
That question decides the route, not the size of the order. Both end in the same place.
Your purchasing department is
Take a quote. It carries a number, holds the prices for 30 days, and lists everything your finance office needs. Hand it over and your purchasing manager places the order against the quote number, either settling it directly or raising a purchase order first and being billed afterwards. Institutions outside the United States often need a pro-forma invoice before a PO can exist; this quote is laid out to serve as one.
Build an order, then take a quoteYou are
Go straight through. Delivery details, settlement terms, done. No quotation step in between, which makes this the faster of the two. If your institution still wants a purchase order number on the invoice, put it in at checkout and we will print it there.
Build an order and check outStart from a gene, not from a sequence
You do not need to arrive with a sequence in hand.
Send a gene symbol and a species and tell us the experiment. You get back a proposed design with the reasoning — target region, Tm, amplicon, modification choice — and the price against the published list. There is no charge and no obligation to order.
We do this by hand rather than from a lookup table, because a stored sequence that was correct against an old genome build, or that matches a paralogue, will cost you an experiment. One business day is a reasonable price for not finding that out at the bench.
