DNA and RNA synthesis, direct · an American brand

Your price, the moment you configure it.

Primers, hydrolysis probes, miRNA reagents, siRNA and CRISPR guide RNA for research laboratories. Work out what your experiment costs without asking anyone.

Writing DNA should be as easy as reading it.

Reading a genome took twenty years and a billion dollars. Now it takes a day. Writing one still takes a purchase order.

Why

What the price is for

You see the price for any order as you configure it, and we charge everyone the same. That is a statement about transparency rather than about being cheap, and we are not going to build an argument out of what somebody else charges.

What we will say is this. The goal is a synthesis capability within reach of every laboratory, and what stands between that goal and most of the laboratories in the world is not the price — it is the opacity around it. The quotation you have to ask for. The specification written in a unit that does not tell you what arrives. The date nobody will commit to. Cost is what that structure leaves behind, so we treat it as an engineering problem: where it is made, how little sits between your sequence and the synthesiser, and how much of the price is paying for people who never touch the molecule. Low cost is the means. The bench is the point.

Four ways in

Start wherever your experiment already is

One sequence, a whole plate map, a gene symbol, or a catalogue item you can name. None of them needs an account, a login, or a conversation with anybody.

Configure one Paste the sequence, drag the scale, add the labels. The price moves with every change. Configure a sequence
Upload the whole list A mixed batch of primers, probes and RNA in one paste. Each line is priced on its own. Upload a batch list
Start from a gene A symbol and a species is enough. Pick the experiment and order the product. Order by gene
Take it off the shelf miRNA mimics, inhibitors, matched controls, tracrRNA. Fixed sequences — name it, we make it. Browse the catalogue

What comes with the oligo

Four things we will not charge you for and will not quietly drop. Open any of them for the whole story.

Nothing ships straight off a synthesis line

Every order comes to us first, is checked against our own release specification, and leaves under our name — to Nairobi or Cambridge alike. No minimum order, no account manager, no distributor.

What we check, and what your record shows

Mass spectrometry on every oligo, free

Identity is accepted only within ±0.1% of theoretical mass — and your record carries the measured figure and the deviation, not just the word “pass”.

Yield is a measured number, not a nominal one

The amount on your record is read off the delivery report that travels with the batch — packaged OD and nmol per OD, measured on that batch, not a nominal figure for the scale you ordered. We transcribe those numbers onto your record under our own batch reference.

Tubes, aliquots and plates at no charge

Single tube, split across two or four, or 96- and 384-well plates. Choose what suits the bench; none of it is a line on the invoice.

Your QC record is private to your order

Never a public link. It opens with your reference and the email you ordered with, and sequences stay hidden until you show them. Your sequences are your experiment, not our marketing material.

We don’t show you a delivery date yet

Everyone else puts one on the page. We would have to make it up.

Why, and what you get instead

Our manufacturing partner quotes a turnaround once it has seen the order — the length and the modifications decide it, and an international leg sits on top. Printing “3–5 business days” before we have shipped enough orders to know the real distribution would be a guess dressed as a commitment. We would rather say this than print a number and hope.

What you get instead: every stage of your order carries a timestamp you can see, and if anything slips you hear it from us before you have to ask. Once we have shipped enough orders to know the real distribution, a lead time will appear here — measured, like everything else on this page.

Track an order

It travels without a cold chain

Oligos ship as dry powder and are stable at ambient temperature in transit — no dry ice, no temperature excursion to argue about with customs.

Storage and handling on arrival

Store the dry powder at −20 °C and it keeps for a year. Resuspended, use within six months at −20 °C, and avoid repeated freeze–thaw by splitting into working aliquots when you first dissolve it — which is why the aliquots are free.

Every shipment carries the paperwork a customs officer asks for, prepared by us rather than left to you.

Storage, shipping and customs

With every order

Mass spectrum and certificate of analysis. Sequences used to fill your order and nothing else. Remake shipped free, or a refund, if a lot misses its stated QC specification.

The exact terms

If a synthesis does not meet its stated QC specification we remake it and ship the replacement free of charge. No evidence required from you, and nothing to send back. Prefer your money back instead? Say so and we refund it. “Stated QC specification” means the figures printed on that lot’s certificate: measured mass within ±0.1% of theoretical, quantitation within ±15%.

Your sequences are used to fill your order and nothing else. Ask us and we delete them; your QC record is tied to your order, never to a URL anyone can open.

Ordering

Buying one should take four minutes

The configurator, the batch upload and the tracker are the product as much as the tube is.

01

Configure

Paste the sequence, drag the scale, put a dye on one end and a quencher on the other. The price panel recalculates on every keystroke.

Open the configurator
02

Upload a batch

A mixed list of primers, probes and RNA, or the CSV your plate map exports. Every line is classified and priced on its own.

Paste or upload a list
03

Order by gene

No sequence needed. Species, experiment, gene symbol — the products that fit appear with their prices.

Start from a symbol
04

Track it

Reference plus the ordering email. Synthesis, QC, documents, air waybill — each stage carries the date it actually happened.

Track an order
Lines we cannot price automatically — long RNA, unusual modifications, pools and plates — are set aside for a free design quote instead of blocking the rest of the order. The dye–quencher pairing is checked against published spectra while you choose it, not after the tube arrives.
